Scarcliffe soap box race

With the recent announcement that the Scarcliffe soap box race will be going ahead this year. S. G. Gardening are proud to say we will be taking part once again for 2019!

The Scarcliffe soap box derby is a race held in the village of Scarcliffe. Much like the famous red bull soap box race, the Scarcliffe one is a gravity powered race. All for charity.

Teams design and build their own soapboxes and race down the steep hill against the clock. There are multiple jumps and obstacles to manoeuvre, with the hope of crossing the line in one piece!

S. G. Gardening took part in the 2016 Scarcliffe soap box race and placed in a modest 14th place out of 41, for speed. However our primary aim was to raise money for Ashgate hospice and bring a smile to as many faces as possible! Which I believe we did a good job of with our original Bill and Ben theme.

With the help of friends, family and customers donating, we raised a whopping £440 for Ashgate Hospice.

This year we aim to smash that figure and to hopefully climb the ranking ladder a little further for speed whilst still maintaining a family fun theme! We still want to create smiles at the family charity event.

We hope to see everyone there. It really is a great day for all the family!
